Nestled in the heart of the Three Valleys, La Tania combines the charm of a traditional Alpine village with direct access to the world’s largest linked ski area. Whether you’re visiting as a family, group of friends or couple, you’ll find a relaxed atmosphere, excellent skiing and everything you need for a memorable mountain holiday.
La Tania is a small, friendly alpine village surrounded by forest and traditional chalet-style buildings. The pedestrianised centre is easy to get around and has a relaxed, welcoming feel that suits both families and groups.
Children can enjoy the village play park and sledging areas, while adults make the most of the cafés, bars and mountain views. Everything is within easy walking distance, giving the village a simple, unhurried rhythm throughout the day.
You’ll also find a good mix of restaurants, bars, ski shops, a supermarket, delicatessen and tourist office all close to the Ski Dazzle chalets.
La Tania is part of the Courchevel valley, with direct lift access into both Courchevel and Méribel, making it a brilliant base for exploring the Three Valleys.
The main La Tania gondola takes skiers and pedestrians up to the top station, where the Bouc Blanc area and chairlift connect you into the wider ski network via Courchevel and the Col de la Loze link towards Méribel.
The Bouc Blanc restaurant at the top of the La Tania gondola offers a convenient spot to pause and take in the views.
From here, the Dou des Lanches and Bouc Blanc chairlifts open up access to hundreds of kilometres of linked pistes across the Three Valleys.
Beginners can start on the village nursery slope before progressing to the green run back into resort. Confident skiers can enjoy the flowing Folyères blue or Moretta Blanche red runs, while advanced skiers have over 600km of pistes to explore across Courchevel, Méribel and Val Thorens.
La Tania has a relaxed but lively après-ski scene with something for everyone. Expect live music, friendly bars and a welcoming atmosphere at the end of the ski day.
The Ski Lodge is known for its lively après-ski and La Taiga regularly hosts live music and is ideal for a quieter drink before heading back to your chalet.
La Tania has everything you need for a comfortable ski holiday within easy walking distance.
You’ll find a supermarket, ski hire shops, ski schools, a tourist office, and a range of restaurants from simple pizzerias to higher-end dining. Our recommended ski hire partner, Ski Higher, is based in the village and offers convenient equipment rental and service.
La Tania is often described as one of the hidden gems of the Three Valleys. Guests love its friendly atmosphere, excellent value, easy access to world-class skiing and the fact that everything is within walking distance.
It’s a resort that feels big enough to offer everything you need, yet small enough to feel calm, welcoming and easy to navigate.
If you want to be active on your holiday, then the mountains are for you! A choice of sports and activities to suit everyone, to include hiking, mountain biking (trails for all levels), tennis, via ferrata and much more (see list below). If you’re looking for something a little slower paced, you can simply relax on the balcony in the sunshine, breathe in the clean mountain air, and maybe take a dip in the hot tub.
Close by, there’s golf courses in Courchevel and Meribel, horse-riding in the next village, and the Aquamotion Pool complex between Courchevel 1550 and 1650, which has swimming pools, spa facilities, a gym and mountain climbing on offer. For bike enthusiasts, check out the new col de la loze paved cycle track which starts from the Altiport in Courchevel 1850. It was the finishing line for one of the stages of the Tour de France a few years a go.
From La Tania, there are plenty of easy walks, or take the ski lifts to head further a-field, all the way to Val Thorens.
Instead of skiers on the slopes, you will find cows grazing on the rich green pastures. Snow melt makes ways for streams, waterfalls, and hidden lakes.
Venture high enough and you may spot marmots, chamois and ibex.
Head down the mountains to Bozel (20 min drive) and take a dip in the lake, check out the fabulous cheese shop which also sells local saucisse and other Savoyarde specialities, there’s a great little gift shop, wine shop, two supermarkets, a butcher’s and two boulangeries with delicious cakes and pastries which you really should try, after all, you are on holiday!
If you want to head further, take a day trip to Annecy. There’s boat trips, easy walking trails around the lake, and beaches dotted around the lake where you can go for a swim. Explore the pretty old town, with plenty of restaurants, cafes and shops to include high street brands if you need a retail fix.
There’s also the big cities of Lyon, Grenoble (approx 2 hours drive), and pretty mountain villages close by to include Champagny-le haut, and Pralagnon.
If you don’t fancy getting in the car, or venturing far, you can easily find everything you need in La Tania. It has a supermarket, delicatessen and a choice of restaurants with takeaway service. You can hire bikes in the village and the tourist office organise weekly events and activities.
